Slack at THE SANDBOX

What is Slack

Slack is a communication hub that can replace email to help you and your community connect seamlessly. It’s designed to support the way people naturally work together, so you can connect with people online as efficiently as you do face-to-face.

THE SANDBOX has been using Slack as a communication tool since opening, and many of our members use within their own organizations as well!

Slack has a great knowledge base to get started, you can read more about that here.

If you haven’t received an invite to THE SANDBOX Santa Barbara’s Slack, you can request one here. Otherwise, here’s a link to sign in.

We highly recommending downloading the desktop application and/or the mobile app available on Android and iOS.

What are Slack Channels?

THE SANDBOX Slack community has channels for many topics and interests. We recommend starting small and joining others as you get the hang of things. We’ll list them below:

THE ESSENTIALS

#sandbox-talk : this is for all conversation related to THE SANDBOX and members. If you have any questions about the space, feel free to ask them here.

#announcements : this is for upcoming events and news at THE SANDBOX that may affect members. Here you will see THE SANDBOX’s event reminders and member-wide alerts.

#random : this is more for fun, or anything relevant worth sharing with the community (not specifically SANDBOX related).

#sandbox-ops : this is where you can alert SANDBOX staff about things related to the building (parking, coffee, power, etc.)

#lost-and-found : this where you can post items lost or found in the space
